Welcome to South Texas Cowboy Gathering
A Celebration of Our Western Heritage & the American Cowboy
We’re counting the days until our SOUTH TEXAS COWBOY GATHERING takes place on May 3 – 4, 2019 at the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. Planning this annual event began soon after last year’s ended and started with an analysis of that event by Committee Members from information received from attendees, sponsors, performers and volunteers. As a result, more activities have been added to this family-friendly event such as a Mounted Shooters Demonstration and Singer / Songwriter Showcase featuring Grammy Award Winning Singer/Songwriter/Author Alex Harvey.
You also can join Gary Allegretto, the world-famous “Harmonicowboy”, at his award-winning “Learn to Play Cowboy Harmonica Instantly Workshop” and have fun as you learn to play four Western songs in lightning speed – guaranteed! This is family fun for adults and kids ages 5 to 105. No experience is necessary and everything is provided including a top quality harmonica and song booklets. $20 Tickets are sold separately for this added attraction.
Our goal is to help preserve our Western heritage during this two-day Celebration of the American Cowboy. Top performers will sing and tell stories about cowboys, legends of the Old West and the lifestyle of modern day ranchers. The truth behind their lyrics and stories will cut deep in the hearts and souls of those who appreciate their eloquent way of describing cowboy life and the western lifestyle. These remarkable performers will pay tribute to all aspects of Western life:
Trinity Seely from the Big Belt Mountains outside Cascade, Montana;
Gary Allegretto from California;
Alex Harvey from the Texas Hill Country
Jim Jones from New Mexico
Mikki Daniel from Luna, New Mexico
Allan Chapman & Rodeo Kate from Benjamin, Texas
“Straw” Berry from Cordell, Oklahoma
Mike Blakely from the Texas Hill Country
They’ve all played at popular cowboy gatherings across the nation and received the highest nominations and awards from the Western Music Association, Academy of Western Artists, and / or Western Writers of America. Joining this line-up of highly acclaimed performers will be Seguin’s very own Tin Roof that is fast becoming a sought after band in the cowboy genre.
To top it off, we are very proud to announce that our Saturday night HEADLINE BAND will be none other than the TEXAS JAMM BAND featuring Members of GEORGE STRAIT’S ACE IN THE HOLE BAND!
